How a panic attack feels
Racing heart, shortness of breath or a lump in the throat, dizziness, numbness, sweating, chills, the sense that you'll «faint», «have a heart attack» or «lose control». It peaks within minutes and then fades. It is deeply unpleasant, yet your body is not in danger, however much the moment says otherwise.
Why panic keeps coming back
After the first time, the «fear of fear» often begins: you monitor your body, avoid places or situations you link to the attack, and without meaning to you feed the cycle. It is this cycle, not any weakness of character, that keeps panic going, and it can be broken.
How we work together
With modern, evidence-based approaches: we understand what triggers the attacks, you learn to read your bodily signals differently, we work on breathing and gradually move back toward what you've been avoiding, at your own pace. The goal isn't to «never feel anxious» again, but for anxiety to stop running the show.
