Screen & AI addiction: doomscrolling and overconnection

You open your phone for a minute and an hour disappears. You feel empty without it, return to the same feed again and again, or find it easier to talk to an AI than to a person. You're not «stupid» or weak, screens are built precisely to keep you.

What it looks like

Endless scrolling that leaves you emptier, doomscrolling bad news, checking your phone the moment you wake, screen-driven insomnia, trouble concentrating, and a growing preference for digital over real contact, even with chatbots or AI «companions».

Why it keeps you

Apps exploit the brain's reward system with unpredictable «likes» and endless content. But often heavy use is also a way to escape anxiety, loneliness or boredom. The issue isn't just screen time, it's what it's covering.

How we work together

Without guilt and without telling you to «throw away your phone». We understand what feeds the use, rebuild your capacity to tolerate boredom and quiet, and restore balance between the screen and real life and connection.

What to expect

50-minute sessions, online or in person in Thessaloniki, in Greek or English. No commitment.

FAQ

Good to know

Is it a «real» addiction?
It doesn't need a label. If the use makes you feel worse and you struggle to cut back though you want to, it's worth working on.
Do I have to quit social media entirely?
Not necessarily. The goal is a relationship with technology that serves you, not one that drains you. For many that means boundaries, not abstinence.
Does talking to AI a lot count?
Yes. Over-relying on chatbots or AI «companions» for company is a modern, real issue we can look at together, without judgement.
